Default Very nice board! Glad to be here!

I am pleased that I found this board. I have been growing orchids for a number of years and have a collection of between 300-400 plants. Most are mounted, some are grown bareroot on wires, some are in coir baskets with moss or wood slat baskets. I try to make everything look as natural as possible. My favorites are Vandaceous and Bulbos/cirrhos. I collect strictly on what the plant looks like and how much I like it, not how rare it is. Its my theory that a $10 orchid grows as well as a $50 one if given the correct care. My collection is housed in a greenhouse with a large collection of other tropical plants. I have over 1500 different plants. I am very into palms at the moment. I love plants, what can I say??
My other hobbies are drawing tattoo flash, getting tattooed, and listening to my favorite music: heavy metal. (Yes, I play it for my plants, too, and they love it). I recognize a few names on this board from elsewhere, I am certain that in time they will recognize me as well. I am not shy about offering my opinions, but I am also always ready to learn from people with more experience and knowledge than me. I tend to be a jokester, I hope that doesn't turn anyone off. I am looking forward to learning more about orchids here. Thanks!

YO Faerygirl! Welcome to the Board!
A plant lover!!
Lots of plants lovers here too!!!! Those that have their jungles already, even if they are in little cases and those that are building their jungles-even if they have to move into it because they tore the house down for their jungle!!!
Some folks are just lucky!
My jungle is confined to 6X8 but it is hot and steamy when I spray it down to get the humidity up. The Rex Begonias really love that!! Oh yes the orchids do to0!!

Welcome to OB ! You've come to the right place. We don't run a structured operation here. Key for Orchid Board is information exchange so feel free to talk and voice your opinions as much as you want. Nothing stimulates conversation like posting. We've got a gallery ready for your photos

When you run out of plant photos, show us some tats

Aboard Faerygirl, sounds like you have already fit in here at the OB...where there is plenty of fun and orchid chatter. The gallery is well lets just say "The OB Greenhouse", where we all share in our addiction. Those greenhouse's do make the indoor grower envious but so much in common here on the OB...a fun addiction. Glad you can join us Faerygirl
