My Mum told me that she had been given a tip for finding the perfect growing spot in your house for a Phal. The tip was to grow an african violet in the spot you think is right. If the violet's leaves turn one colour it's too bright for the Phal if they turn another colour it's too dark for the Phal. If they stay the perfect colour for an african violet then it's perfect light for the Phal. You move the african violet arround until you find the best spot.
