Hello! Newbie has a Den question Female
Default Hello! Newbie has a Den question

I am a very new orchid owner. Last week I purchased my first Dendrobium (Burana Max. No. 2).

I've been reading books for beginners and have learned that there are evergreen and decidious types. How can I tell whether mine is evergreen? Also, how can I tell whether it is a "warm" or "cool" Den?

Thanks in advance!
Dana

and to the board
It is great to hare you here

If the flowers are coming out the top of the plant on a long stem then you have the ever green type but if the flowers come out the side of the plant then it needs to have a winter rest

Would this be true (I mean a winter rest) even in a warm country like India? We barely have a winter! lol
What period of rest would you suggest?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
