Default Hello from complete newbie with new setup

We (my wife and myself) decided to get started in this hobby.
After many months of planning (and me building the setup) we finally bought are first orchids yesterday, thanks to the guys at Cloud's Orchids.

Here are a few photos of the setup and the orchids.

Love the floating shelves idea! Looks like you are off to a great start.

Thanks. Well, I wanted something that didn't look too bulky and that's a bit different, because it's in the living room (along with my fish tank and the bar).

Welcome to OB

Your setup looks great. I'm with Al, the floating shelves looks great, so do your orchids.

Welcome to an absorbing hobby

Welcome to OB! You've picked a nice variety that should keep you in blooms as you enjoy your new hobby!

Hi and welcome! That's a great looking set up. What kind of lights do you have? They must be fairly bright to have bloomed the tolumina.

Welcome!!
That is an awesome looking setup, it looks so nice! But what are you going to do when you have no more space for orchids in there? The thing with orchids is that they always seem to attract more orchids, until you don't know where to put them anymore!

I mentioned that I just got them yesterday. So the Tolumnia was in bloom already.

The lights are (for now) one Philips Plant & Aquarium (2700 K I believe) and one Natural Sunshine (5000 K). Both are 48" T8 (32W). Not sure if I should put 2 x 5000 K instead of 1 x 2700 K and 1 x 5000 K.

I already thought about that
But we still have some place on that shelf. After that...I'll look at other places around the house.
