Hi,
I'm Sune, a botanist from Nicaragua interested in plant photography of wild species. Originally, I come from Denmark, but 8 years ago I settled down in this paradise of flora and biodiversity reaching us from both continents. Nicaragua is not a boring place - it is still so little investigated that "new" species for the country and the region is very frequently found. Orchids, of course, they are special because people like to bring them down from the mountains and cultivate them - even from the countries outside Nicaragua. This "softens" up the earlier endemism, probably good and bad at the same time.
Sounds like you've probably got some interesting stories to tell...please do, I look forward to hearing more about growing these lovelies in Nicaragua.
Lots of great people here, in all stages of their addiction We've got a very cool photo gallery too!
We'd love to see some pics
We're also in the chat room each night starting around 8pm est. Maybe you could join us

A Danish transplant! Bet you are enjoying the snowless winters!
That is great that you are in a position to introduce new and exciting discoveries to the orchid loving world (but don't forget about all the other interesting plants, such as the mosses and the selaginellas, etc.-tropical plants are a great companion for our orchids!!)
Will be looking forward to more information from Nicaragua!!!
