new member from Washington state

[Boondock]

Hello, I am new to orchid. I have enjoyed chatting with a few members here in the chatroom.

I live in western Washington state, just south of Seattle. I'll be growing indoors, due to the cool and rainy climate. My interest is miniature and compact plants.

I recently constructed a growing area. I mounted 3, 4ft fluroescent light fixtures, fitted with a mix of bulbs over a 48inx16 growing area. Below is a photo of the lights.

Nice setup. Does that provide enough light for high light requiring orchids?

Interesting name there!
I thought western WA below Seattle was all city and freeways!
Bet you grow moss like we grow weeds!
Looks like you have a great start on growing minis!!! I like minis too!
There are some nice paphiopedilums that will flower under your type of light set up. Do tell us more about how you are growing as I did that years ago and used an old metal ovoid cow trough to keep the plants in!!!
Am looking forward to learn more about your orchids and growing experiences!

Welcome boondock (I actually live in the boondocks). I also LOVE minis of not only orchids but everything else. looking forward to some post about minis.
