Default Hello from NJ

Hi Everybody,
I thought it was time to say hi, I have been lurking around for a short while and have found your site very helpful. I am a newbie but got hooked very quickly. It is only a year since I bought my first orchid and I now I have 45 orchids. I also killed my first orchid but that only encouraged me to learn more about them. I have mostly phals. Love the minis. Some are those sad $5 phals from HD, etc. but they have rewarded me this winter with reblooming. I have a few catts., paphs. and dendos. As you can see alittle bit of this and that. Most of the plants are in s/h now, with only those in spike still in bark mix. I grow under lights and windowsills.
I look forward to entering the forum, and as a newbie, I always have questions.
Linda

I trust the ones that died were Dendrobiums That's the way those guys are. Welcome aboard. We are a loving bunch (except for Tony who hates Dendrobiums - no, that's not true! Dendrobiums hate Tony ) Ask away and we will freely give you advice. Now advice is a funny thing -- you have to take it with a grain of salt (so to speak)

Aboard Linda, it's great when a lurker (is that a word) members up and introduces themselves. It's great to have you and sounds like your working your way up the orchid count. We all have to start somewhere and with the OB to share in our boo-boo's and our wtg's is way to self-satisfying. There is a wealth of information awaiting and the OB is the best orchid forum on the web...glad your here Please use the gallery to post your 's and enjoy other members 's.

Welcome to the Orchid Board. 45 'chids, growing s/h, sounds like you are no newbie, but rather experienced. Congrats!!!! Glad you could find your way here.
Now I must warn you, they say you should not trust in forums too much, for they give advice both pro and against an idea, or orchid. Hehe, but this is the best place to get all kinds of advice!!!!!!!!

thank you everyone for the warm welcome! Nothing like looking at the snow on the ground here in NJ and having the orchids in bloom. I do not think I will mind the winter as much now.
