Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and to orchids. I just recently got my first orchid - a phalaenopsis - and I'm in love with it. This seems like the place to be for orchid lovers.

Hi Sheiman and welcome to Orchid Board.

Congratulations on your first orchid, I'm sure it will be the first of many.

In case you haven't seen it there is a Phal care sheet here.
http://www.orchidboard.com/Phalaenop...ure-Care-Sheet

My main tip, is to let the roots go silver/white between waterings. Water thoroughly each time, let it drain afterwards, then wait till the roots go back to silver before watering again. If possible keep it in a clear pot so you can see the roots.

Thanks for the welcome and the care sheet! That will definitely be helpful.

Welcome and
I just joined yesterday.
I have 3 Phalaenopsis I have had for 3 years, and a Cymbidium (Semiterrestrials) I have had for a little over a month.
You will have so much fun
This is my third blooming on my Phalaenopsis, I am still afraid of them but I just keep loving them and they have been kind to me.
This is a great place to be. I received help on my first inquiry really quick.
You will love your orchids and probably get hooked on them. I know I sure did. I just wish I had more $ to invest.
Bye Bye for now,
L
