Hello from Barrie, Ontario - Canada
Hello everyone
I just wanted to write a quick note saying hello, and I will be wandering around the boards collecting whatever information I can I am a complete newbie to the whole "greenthumb" thing. I build high-rise buildings for a living and last year ( when I started to come down with my "greenthumb" ) built an addition onto my house to be able to take care of plants year round ( Winters are cold up here! )
Anyhoo....I'm a 31 year old male with 2 kids, and a wonderful wife who constantly tells me I should have been born a woman because I love flowers and the finer things in life....but as I tell her ... once you pee standing up, you can never go back!

Hi cb,
Thanks for the reply Yes I am growing orchids, at the moment about 40 of them. I am also trying to do things like grow strawberries inside under lights, etc etc. I have a few pictures of the orchids I have in bloom right at the moment and will post them in a few minutes, I just have to crop them down in photoshop

Welcome Krim,
Would love to see a pic of your additions if/when you have a minute. I'm working towards something additional for our plants as well, but the sunroom I have in mind is a bit pricy right now (ie....100k). Yikes. Your plants look great, word of caution though, 2 turns into 4 and 40 turns into 200 really quickly. There are far worse addictions to have the way I look at it and as I always tell my husband.

Hi Krimzon , good to see someone on orchidboard that is practically a neighbor , about 45 minutes away . You know they are right , 2 turns into 4 and 40 turns into 200 . It happens pretty fast , when the bug bites you . I am reaching 86 plants now . Have fun and hope you learn lots .
