Hi from Norway
Default Hi from Norway

Hello there! I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm from Norway and I've been reading on this board for quite a while now.
I've got a few phalaenopsis right now, but my collection will expand as we move into our new house and no longer the lack of space can stop me.

In addition I'm trying to grow lithops and sanseviera, I just put a mangoseed in the soil and I've got three Hoyas.
I've got one Hoya and two orchids in S/H culture, and I'll put the mangoseed over in S/H as well.

So there you've got a little about me, I'll see you around here!

Thanks for the nice welcome!
I know for a fact that my collection will grow, I'm having a really hard time keeping my hands off whenever I'm stupid enough to put my feet inside a flowershop.

Tha mango is, as many other things I do, just a "good idea". Time will show if it was such...

I'm glad to have a place to ask and get a good thoughtful reply, and also share my passion for these wonderful plants.

A tip with the mango. I have seen people keep it in a medium pot and semi-bonsai it. They can take temperatures to 0c but not much frost. They like warm summers. My brother is growing one where it gets to -1c but light frost. So they are not that soft. Just get large.

We all make silly mistakes, thats part of growing orchids. Many of us lust after what is not suitable in our climate as it is exotic. Look at me growing Lepanthes in Bangkok LOL....
