Hi. I just found this forum last night and am really excited about it. I have 3 phalaenopis and will likely end up with more shortly. About two years ago I tried growing several different kinds of orchids-- lady slipper, phalaenopsis, dendrobium-- and failed miserably. I am a firm believer that plants (especially orchids) respond to their grower's emotional status. So, after killing 4 or 5 orchids last year, I am in a much better place emotionally/psychologically and am ready to try my hand again. All three of my guys are doing pretty well. If you have any advice regarding phals see my post "confused re: potting & light".
Glad to hear you're trying again despite the problems last time. This is a great place to learn how to keep these things alive so it's really great you've found us.
Welcome to the OB!!!!
would suggest you try & read every post on this forum... ..
It took me months when I first started but reading & reading it..It sort of sinks in! ..whatever does not ...just ask (as you have already!) there's always some one who 'knows' more..which is why this is a great forum!
Bienvenue!
Megan. I too have killed my fair share of orchids. Since finding OB, I have to say I have improved tremendously..Great advice, lots of tips, suggestions
Welcome to Orchid Board Megan I think you'd be hard pressed to find many members here who haven't killed several orchids. It's all part of the experience as we go.
Like Lecent, my orchid growing has greatly improved after having found this forum.
