Hello from Seattle Male
Default Hello from Seattle

Hello everyone. My name is Bob and I am a newbie to the orchid scene, but am quickly becoming an addict. I don't know too much, and would like any info anyone has as to good places to get some, growing tips on the different ones, and even good people on eBay to get them from. I think that will be my first place.

Plus just a nice friendly word would be most welcome. I am feeling a little overwhelmed by all of the different ones, and know it will probably take years to get even halfway knowledgable about them, but I will do my best.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me, and I look forward to chatting with all of you in the rooms.

Sincerely,

Bob

HI BOb, welcome to OrchidBoard, you will find lots of info and advice on here everyone is so friendly and helpful, I am new to orchids also and am loving every minute of it, my collection has expanded considerably from the that first NoID phal I bought in sainsburys on the reduced shelf ( I promptly killed it!) if it wasnt for the Board I might not have tried again, I hope you have as much enjoyment and fun here as I do. Jump in with any questions people are so good at sharing their wisdom.

Hi Bob and welcome to the OB! Do you have any orchids now? If so, what kind? As for the ebay vendors, there is a forum just for vendor feedback which may help you out.

Hi Bob! Nice to meet another Washington member here. I'm from a little place no one's heard of called Toutle. It's a couple hours south of Seattle.

You should check out Olympic Orchids, just north of Seattle. They have an open house for Seattle residents. I'm planning on ordering from them in a month or so, because I heard good things about them.

Welcome aboard! Don't worry about feeling overwhelmed. There are so many orchids that one can never know them all, and we are all constantly learning from each other. And we are ALL terribly good enablers!
