Hello from Pennsylvania!
Hello all!
Wanted to finally say hello and get involved here. I've had orchids (well, only a few... really) for a little over a year, and have been relatively successful, but after going to some orchid shows at Phipps Conservatory here in Pittsburgh, then seeing the awe that was Orchid Mania at the Cleveland Botanical Garden while visiting there in the beginning of March, I've been struck by the 'chid bug.
I now have 5 orchids... I know, not many to start with, but hubby and I are already planning on using an old aquarium to build an orchidarium to house some mini's and we're making wish-lists. I'm thinking that it may be a bad thing that when my hubby gets into the same hobby I'm into that he doesn't say no.... ever.

Welcome, welcome! I hope you enjoy the site and find the information from others useful... I certainly have... I do have to warn you though... Orchid collecting is quite an addiction... I only started a few months ago and I am already up to 11 orchids!!! Yikes!
I don't know how they all came here... I believe some of them must have followed me home

Welcome Erinmir,
You sound like you've really been struck with the Orchid bug! It's great that your Hubby likes them as well, but now you'll have nothing to hold you back

Hi Erinmir! Are you in Pittsburgh? Phipps is wonderful to visit, especially on gray winter days. I wonder if you got a chance to make it to the OSWP show in March??? I think they have another show in the fall at Bidwell on the northside, just in case you missed it!!! WELCOME!!!

Hi Erinmir,
Good job on getting the husband involved! I wish more younger males were into this, so I didn't seem so .... wierd. Where abouts in PA are you ? I am a huge hockey fan, and Philadelphia Flyers are my team in a big, big way. I live in Barrie, Ontario and drive 10 hours each way a few times a year to go down to Philly to see them play!

Hey Krim,
I'm young, male, and an orchid lover... so you aren't alone. I feel weird all the time, and, maybe I am, but just a bit! Just know that there are others like yourself! Yayyyyyy for orchids!!!!!
