Introduction - Hello from bangalore, India - Orchid Board

This is my third innings at growing Orchids - the first was a period of about five years which ended as I moved to another city where there was no place for orchids; the second was a shorter run of about three years and ended with my job requiring me to move on
a long-term overseas assignment. I am settled in Bangalore and have therefore decided to restart my old hobby. In the past four months I have built a collection of about forty orchids mainly dendrobiums, phalaenopsis, vandas, oncidiums, mokaras, khagwaras and cattalyas.

I am hoping I will learn a lot from this forum and make a lot of new friends.

Welcome, welcome, welcome! Always glad to have a new 'chid friend here and especially one who can gather such a varied collection in such a short time! It's safe to say you're addicted, but watch out as there are many, many enablers here who'll further your frenzy!

Welcome, Suresh! Glad to hear that you have been able to take up your hobby again. I lived in Bangalore for 2 years on an assignment back in 2004 & 2005. Enjoyed it very much, but alas, because we were only there for a relatively short time, I didn't try to start a collection of orchids while I was there.

I'm sure you'll enjoy Orchid Board! Its full of friendly people!!

Welcome Suresh, that's fast collection to get that many in a short time.

Thank you all I am already feeling at home. Here are a few pictures of my orchids which are flowering. The first is a Dendrobium Burana Green Star X Pramot, the second is anothr Dendrobium Kannayao and the third is an Oncidium Tolumnia Genting Rainbow (a solitary flower)

I love your Dendrobiums!
The colours of the first Dendro are absolutely fascinating!

And the second one... it doesn't look like a real flower, love it
