My Introduction
Hi,
I came upon this site over the weekend and since I have been trying to take in all I can. I have had some success growing orchids in the past but I've also killed more than my share. After having open heart surgery in 2000 I lost interest. Now the bug has bitten me again. In the past I had one phalaenopsis that stayed in continues bloom for over three years. My main interest was with cattleyas. The one pictured below I bought as a seedling in a two inch pot. After several years it looked like this

Wow, gorgeous. Do you have the name for that one? Welcome to the Orchid Board! I hope you like the place.

Sorry but I no longer have this. It got thrown out back in 2000 when I lost interest. I'm just now getting ready to start over.

Welcome Tom, great to have you with us.
Your cattleya was wonderful, I hope you can soon find some replacement 'chids just as good.

Welcome to OB Tom, it's nice to have you here!
That catt was huge, you really grew it well. I guess that once the orchid bug gets you, you always have it, even if you stop growing them for a few years.
Did you restart a collection yet?

Yes, when I has in Hawaii last month I bought two catts and had them shipped back. One is a Blc. Momilanl Rainbow and the other is a Blc. Toshieaok Paizzaz. Hoping they both will bloom this fall.
