Hey All- Just wanted to introduce myself to the orchid board! I am currently working on expanding my world of orchids.
Right now I have 7 Phals growing, but a few aren't doing so hot
. I have already posted one question about my dying phals; alas, they are still on a downward spiral I believe.
So to start I will show my poor and unhealthy plants and hope that I can get some help...
The first phal is looking completely pitiful. It has 1 leaf which is yellowing and now has 2 healthy roots. I attempted the bagging method, and with absolutely no luck created probably more rot on the roots. I doused lightly with h2o2 and then watered. I repotted him, as i do every few weeks to check on the growth. I finally put him in a small pot. There is a spike, which for whatever reason i did not cut(hoping for keiki?). Should i cut the spike? Throw the whole thing into the corner and forget about it for awhile?
The second guy seems to be a bit better, this time with two leaves, dark green, but terribly wrinkled. He has also been repotted into a smaller, hopefully more appropriately sized pot. Maybe has a few healthy roots. How can i get these leaves plump again??
And now a little about my care routine. All plants live in a moderately light apartment. They have humidity trays and dont sit directly in the water. They have little bamboo skewars to measure moisture. I water about once every 5-8 days. The plants are in a medium bark medium.
Thanks to all for their help! I love my orchids i dont want to see any more die!!!
