Hello from Canada
Hi everyone; just wanted to introduce myself. I've been growing orchids for some 20 years. Most are grown simply on windowsills so space is limited. My number of planmts has fluctuated greatly over the years, peaking at over 80 in the 80's then dropping to just 20 in the 90's (I didn't have a clue at the time!). Now I'm back to about 60 and the collection is now spilling over at work (I work in a Botanical garden so they are only too delighted!). With the greenhouses available at work, I expect the collection will grow in leaps and bounds! At home I grow mostly cool growers in the Oncidium alliance but I do have some Phals and Paphs in a warmer room. At work, I keep my Cattleya alliance and we (the Botanical garden) were just given a donation of 30 Vandaceous orchids from Thailand which are my responsibility. They were in hard shape but are slowly responding....no flowers yet but hopefully this summer. I hope I can add to the Orchid Board family!

Hi Toddybear - welcome to the OB! Nice to see another Canadian join up.
Please check out all our features - this is a fantastic forum with great people and a ton of knowledge to share.
We would love to see pics of what and where you grow. Are you a member of an Orchid Society? Any Canadian orchid growers you can recommend for the mailordering type out here?

Welcome to ORchid Board. Wow you work at a botanical garden!! Way cool! Would you be able to take some pics of the orchids growing there and share with the rest of us?
Glad you joined, you must have some good expertise.
