Thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself even though I've already been posting.
I've been fascinated with growing orchids for years, but all I seemed to do was kill them. The first ones I drowned (I worried that in my dry climate, they wouldn't get enough water)
Once I realized I didn't need to keep them submerged, I wasn't able to provide enough light. I thought that I'd never be able to grow orchids.
I ended up getting a new job, and with the new job came a new office with a south-facing window covered with a transparent blind. I got fantastic light, and thought I'd try again. I got a couple of orchids from one of the big-box stores thinking that if I killed these, I wouldn't be out a lot of cash. Imagine my surprise when I didn't kill them immediately.
Since I didn't kill my orchids, I wanted to join an online community to learn more about my new babies. Glad I found this one!
