Hi from Michigan
Smile Hi from Michigan

,

My name's Julie and I'm pretty excited to have just found this web site. I've got only two orchids as I'm afraid of hurting them so I'm going slow, needed some info, found this site on FB and here I am. After looking around I've had a few questions answered but now I've got more questions!

I've always loved flowers but there's just something special about orchids. Looking forward to growing my knowledge here (and my collections once I gain some confidence).

Hi Julie. Welcome to the Board. I'm in Cadillac and there are many Michiganders here. Hope you enjoy this place.

Welcome Julie, from another Michigander. I'm from the Grand Rapids area. I don't have a greenhouse so I grow mine in my home under lights. If you have any questions feel free to ask. There is always someone able to give you answers.

Thanks Marilyn and Ross,

It's nice having locals around that can help answer questions that you've already lived through.

Since your "locals" do you know of any local botanical gardens that have orchids?

Thanks,

Julie

Where are you local to? Matthaei in Ann Arbor has orchids, as does Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids. There is an orchid collection on Belle Isle as well (never seen that one).

Hi Julie, and welcome to orchid board!

I'm no Michigander... but I was born there and have a lot of family there! Does that count??

Don't feel bad, I came here originally looking for just a little info, and ended up with a lot more questions too! But it's loads of fun and I don't regret a minute of it. Don't be affraid to ask a question, there is someone here with the answer!

If you haven't found it yet, the search is a great tool. I like the advanced search option. Unlike some boards, this one actually works really good!
