Smile Hi! From India

Hi! Like I wrote I'm from India, (Pune to be precise).I visit orchid board a lot and have benefitted from the forums that hold a lot of help for the beginner. Thanks a lot for the free information/advice available. There arent many orchid support groups where I live and the www is the only place I turn to.Most of the threads do have a lack of writing from Asia/India.I hope to meet people who have experienced growing in these conditions where too much light and heat are big issues.

Hi Veena! Welcome to Orchid Board! Its great to have you here. As I said in the other thread, I lived in Bangalore for 2 years, so I'm at least a little familiar with the climate. I had friends who were from Kerala, and they successfully grew orchids outside in the trees in their garden, so it is possible!

Also, many people living in Florida in the US also deal with too much sun and really hot temps, so you might find some good information coming from people who live there.

Hope you enjoy the forum! And please don't hesitate to ask any questions that you might have!

Hi Shakkai!! Well seeing your post got me thinking about an India native I just gor. It is a Bulbophyllum rothschildianum. So, Im very interested in the conditions it originates in. I live in the hot Sonoran desert of Arizona, but deal with low humidity most of the year. So there are those of us out there who combat the same issues. Welcome and thanks for sharing!!
