Hi Group,

My name is Craig Gibbon and im a new member from Sunny South Africa!!!!! I came across this forum a while back while looking for info on Neofinetia's I decided to join, because there is plenty on info on these little beauts!! A friend of mine from Holland has infected me with the Neofinetia virus!!! Is there any cure??? I have three already, a small growth of Benisuzume and two normal Neo's from Korea My largest plant is currently coming into bloom, it has three spikes, very happy!! Unfortunately, Neo's are virtually impossible to get here in South Africa. I want to get some more in the near future, but my friend, the one who infected me with the virus!!, will have to buy on my behalf! I have found them to be one of the easiest and most forgiving of orchids. I currently stay on a farm just outside of a little town of Empangeni, in the Province of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Our climate is decidedly sub-tropical. We recorded one of the hottest days here about two weeks back, 48 Celsius (118 fahrenheit) and the Neo's were unaffected!! I cant say the same for my Stenoglottis!

The other Orchids that I grow are Stenoglottis, Various Southern African Terrestrials and Epiphytes and few other bits and pieces. I will be relocating to Johannesburg in the next few months so unfortunately I will have to find homes for the more cold sensitive orchids. Its going to be hard!! I will concentrate on more of the cooler growing stuff then!! So you lose some and gain others!!

Kind Regards,

Craig Gibbon

P.S This is an absolutely fantastic forum!!
