Default Cen Cal

Hey, Joshua Bradley here from Hanford, CA. Just starting in the orchid hobby. Bought two books on them. Hopefully getting a green house soon. 24 years old and married. Interested in the color genes of orchids, based off my user name. I'm hoping to eventually raise some orchids and get the darkest color varieties possible.

Welcome, Joshua. Perhaps you should consider some of the vini-color Paphiopedilums for starters. They are some of the darkest flowers. Here's a link to a very dark flower:

Welcome Joshua. I think we are practically neighbors! You also might want to look at this site. They don't come much blacker than this. Fdk. After Dark ‘SVO Black Pearl’ FCC/AOS.

Welcome Joshua, Good to have you here. I'm not big into any specific color, but I like the dark ones too. Browse through some old threads, you might find a few gems. Someone (in Brazil) posted a Maxillaria that was as black as any orchid I've seen. Good luck, and see you around the OB!
