You had to be very exact in its use and the fertilizer was tricky to use. I used it through a hose sprayer for a month and saw absolutely no difference in growth over my regular fertilizer I switched to a pump sprayer and saw positive results almost right away. You had to be careful on how much you applied in the plant. Too much and you have that soft, weak growth that you mentioned. I spray about 4 seconds into a Catt pot and that is it...even less with Phals. You also have to use it in bright, warm, sunny conditions for it to work. It was all about the Methanol being able to pull up the nutrients in the right amount and for many, a bit of work. (I had a friend who was a heavy feeder and ended up with lots of long, skinny leaved Phals).
If you got it right, though...you have explosive, strong, growth and lots of flowers.
I have been supplimenting it with Worm Tea and a non-urea based fertilzer. I'm gradually "weaning" off it as I am almost out with no other source, unless I figure out how to brew an acceptable replacement for it.
