I'm baaaaack :)
Hello fellow orchid sickos. I thought I might re-introduce myself. I have been out of touch for a few months. My grandparents had to sell their house and move into assisted living, and my grandfather was hospitalized for a long time...etc. So as the RN in the family, I was up in Minnesota getting all of that arranged and taken care of for them, and I had little time or ability to be on the internet for a while.
I am back in DC and back at work now. I came back every couple of weeks or so...my orchids took a bit of a beating, but they will be OK. They just got neglected a bit. But I am back to spoiling them.
I will post some pics of my set up and all that somewhere else so you can see what's in bloom and all that. It's nice to be back with my 'chids!

Oh yeh, I did have some fun too...
I also recently turned 40 (a week ago), so went to the Cayman Islands for a two week dive trip...that was fabulous.
I grow a variety of orchids, phals, paphs, phrags, catts, oncids, etc. Mostly hybrids, but a couple species thrown in there for good measure. I have about 75 I think on last count. It's an illness...and when I find a 12 step program, I will join.
I started when I was in 7th grade!!! I'm still learning though...this board is great, lots of awesome information here.

Sorry to hear about your Grandparents. Glad you were able to help though.
But don't worry, we didn't forget you. Saw the pics of you blooms, very nice, and congrats on your Bday!
Oh and I'm guessing there might have been some problems on orchid board this morning due to the server upgrade we just had.
