Hi all. I've lurked on this board for a while and finally registered. I've been growing chids for quite a few years now and have started to spread my wings a little in terms of orchid shows and learning to do breeding. While my wings have been spreading my focus has narrowed. Although I have paphs and minicatts and one lone dend, my collection has been drastically narrowed in that 80% or more is made up of phals and phrags.

Hello Pyrate! I think I've done the same thing over time, by narrowing my focus to what pleases me the most. It's hard to say no to any orchid, but when you have room issues, it's necessary. Glad you came onboard! Welcome!
Welcome aboard, pyrate. My experience is just the opposite. When I joined, I grew mostly catts and phals. When I saw all the awesone things other people were growing here, I really spread out to get as many different things as I could hope to grow. It's a lot of fun, but now I'm going to have to find a lot more room, for me, my cats, and all the rest. Have fun here.
