Default Hello!

I just registered today but i have been previously reading here quite oftenly!
Of course i'm a kind of orchid fiend...I live in Paris and grow around 60 (maybe more,it"s been ages since i last counted them) orchids indoors (but i can put some outside during summer) they grow on windowsill and in a kind of awfull greenhouse for indoors (it's called a Balcony over here) and i use natural+artificial ligths
A have botanicals and hydrids phalaenopsis, Cattleyas (and relatives), paphiopedilums, phragmipedium, oncidiums, vandas, zygopetalum and a few others
As i am pretty shy, i'm not sure i'll participate much but one never knows...anyway, i'll keep on reading you and beaming when seeing your plants (some of them we can't find on sale around here)
thanks for this wonderful place where we can learn so much

Welcome Louise! We're glad you joined! There really is a ton of great info here. Very friendly advice and of course - pictures!! We really like pictures.

It sounds like you have a nice collection! You must have quite a bit to contribute here. You are going to fit right in. I'm looking forward to hearing about your growing conditions, etc.

Welcome fellow french person!! It's always good to have some more french here. When you have a chance, we'd love to see of your orchids and setup.

Now about getting orchids... I've found that we can nearly most of the orchids available in the USA. If you don't mind getting plants shipped from outside France, there are many good vendors in the EU.

And don't worry about being shy. Everyone here is super friendly and always willing to help out, so I think you'll feel right at home after a couple posts.

thank you so much I'll do my best to participate!

@Camille : i buy out of France, but still I find some plants cheaper and easier to find in the States or in Asia. But most of the time they 're not available to european countries...or you have to buy a lot of them...for instance, i just would love to get a Cattleya dowiana var Rosita
