Default Hello from a new member!

Hi! I'm new at this - I hope I did this post correctly. Not the most computer savvy person in the world, but I love orchids which is why I'm here. I hope to learn a lot. I have a large collection with some success. Trying to do better and I think this forum will help tremendously. I look forward to learning from you all.

Hi! Thanks for the replies! I can see this could be a very addictive thing. I love to talk orchids.

I grow outside in the warmer months (for as long as I possibly can) and inside in the colder months (I live in the Northeast). I spent a bit of money this year and put up a gazebo outside on my deck, which gets the best sun. Got some cheap shelving and shade cloth. I actually had success blooming ascocendas, which was the whole point of the gazebo. A very exciting summer. Had wonderful success with den. farmeri - bloomed twice. I'm all over the place with my collection. Cymbidiums, cats, phals, dens, masd, paphs, and many, many more. Have a few dracs which are alive but in need of a special habitat. I've been looking at the posts for home made orchidariums. I want to try it - if I could get my dracs to bloom, I'd be ever so excited. I have a very diverse collection - almost too diverse to be very successful given my set-up - but working on it. I do have some pics from the summer which I will post when I get a chance (and I figure out how).

KarenAnn, sounds like you belong here with us!

I never paid attention to being told not to diversify too much...my collection is all over the place too and all in all they do pretty well

Can't wait to see

Welcome Karen. When you get a chance, why not fill in some more info about where you are located? It'll help us with questions in the future. Also pictures are something we thrive on
