Default Hi!

Wow, look at this place!

An online friend on another board linked me to this board today, and I'm blown away!

I garden outdoors and in, but have never grown orchids before. I saw several that knocked my socks off this weekend (enormous cattleyas), and I have to have them! So, I've come here to learn.

I probaby won't jump in until I've read what's going on around here and learned a bit more, but I wanted to say hi. So...HI!

I will, however, pop over to the gallery in just a sec and post the pictures I took of those cattleyas over the weekend.

Welcome! There are also chats every night starting about 8PM EST. I seldom attend, but it's a great place to see what's going on. Looking forward to seeing how you do with this new obsession! Don't forget to read all the articles posted under "Member Articles" over on the left of your screen.

Welcome over here, too! You are doomed now, you know. Orchids are addictive.

Everything I do is addictive, hehe - and expensive, so I guess I'll fit right in. )

Orchids are cheaper than crack (or crank, or whatever it is the 'kids' do nowdays), usually anyways, and more socially acceptable.

At least it is an impressive addition - many people are amazed that a person grows orchids as a hobby!?

Welcome to the OB s1ren. This is a great place with great people. Enjoy, post lots, set up an album in the gallery, write an article, join in the chats, submit a term for the glossary......you name it, you can do it here.

Most of the people I know are amazed at the sheer number of [foliage] plants that I keep in my home. I decided it was time to add flowers when I bought my first Cyclamen a few weeks ago (it doesn't like me, though).

It's an addiction, a quest to fill my home with as many plants as will fit, and often a game to see how long it takes my husband to notice new plants! Hee!

Hi s1ren and welcome

You're gonna have a blast here and in the world of orchids! Get ready

This is definitely the place to meet other people who grow orchids and learn from their experience. It won't take long before you're absorbing it all just by being here

Looking forward to seeing your pictures and helping you through your addiction

Stop by chat some night...really great people and always an interesting conversation.

Nooowwww, wait just a minute! You aren't having luck with Cyclamen? Houston... we have a problem!

Maybe Phalenopsis are more up your alley? They're pretty easy. I gave up on Cyclamen because they are such a weed. Maybe humidity is the problem? Tell us more.
