Scott, I am originally from Niagara Falls and met my Wife while attending Syracuse University. Have been to the Adirondacks many times and know NYS very well. Welcome to the board. Glad to see you join up.

beautiful Phal Scott!...sorry, but I can't ID it..I'm brand new to orchids! happily so!..I've learned here at OB that without names, they're called NOIDS...I have 2 myself; but they are beautiful nonetheless!..Your photo is very beautiful too. I haven't learned how to set the stage to feature the beauty of the chids..! all in due time! Eileen

Hello form upstate NY, USA
Default Thanks again for the warm welcome.

This is a great forum, the responses have really helped me come along. I feel very welcome in this community - I guess I now have to do my job to pass it along. Time to move on to other forums.

Eileen, thanks for the NOIDS advice - many of mine fall into that category! I use the following link to help with photography:

Old Mister Crow's guide to photographing bonsai and kusamono

I came upon it in my other obsession with bonsai, but the principles seem to generally work for orchids too.

Hope to hear from you all elsewhere in the forum!

Scott

Scott - it would be of great value to the board if you would create a thread and post that photo link in the photography forum .. I am sure everyone who hasn't seen this thread would benefit from it's posting in that forum.
Thank you
