Default hello

I am a new member tho not new to orchids, keep them as houseplants and outdoors in summer. I live in SW Canada and just can't stop collecting orchids. Mostly have luck with phal and windowsill orchids. My favorite new one is an epidendrum crystal blue, which is actually beautiful hot pink and just keeps growing.

Hi Leslee,
Welcome to the Orchid Board...it sounds like you're a good orchidholic like many of us!
Do you have a pic of your new epidendrum? I would love to see one if you do.
I'm looking forward to seeing more posts from you.

here is my epidendrum. Not sure what to do with the cane when they finish flowering, one source says cut back, but it looks like they will sprout new canes like keikis.

Welcome to the board. Glad you chose to join.

By "cane" do you mean the flower stalk?

these are reed-type, they are related to cattaleya but they almost look like dendrobiums. There are buds halfway down the cane or reed.
