and Not from NY, but Michigan. I also have trouble with humidity in the winter. A humidifier helps a lot.

Hi, Grandma!

Yes, a humidifier definetly helps, but a few of my locations aren't humidifier friendly! (like my dining room) I do O.K., though. Nice to meet you too!

Hi Dorothy....I've read many of your wonderful posts in the short time since I joined this great site!...just "heard mention" you're from Long Island!...I spent my formative years there!...well, the first 33 anyway...where are you from on LI? I lived in Hewlett-Cedarhurst in Nassau Cnty as a youngster; Huntington Sta and West Islip in Suffolk as an "adult"...so glad to meet you (aren't you one of the very special expert - guru's of orchids here at the Board?) Hi Eileen -
It's very nice meeting you, too
I am in the New Hyde Park region of Nassau County close to the Queens border. I am somewhat familiar with Huntington Sta, not so much with Hewlett-Cedarhurst or West Islip ...
I wouldn't consider myself an expert or guru at all .. as orchids are a continual learning .. I consider myself a perpetual beginner ..
but I thank you for the compliment

Eileen,
Fairly new to orchids, though I've had some in the past and done well with them...though it seems I've got orchid fever now
