Default hi from MB

i see there are a lot of threads today in this forum. some others must have recived Marty's email

My name is Landon, and im a avid herper and vivarium builder. i havent posted here much as im just begining to consider orchids in my vivs. i have a few dendrobiums and phals that i keep in my frog room and at my wifes office (she doesnt take too good of care of them), but id like to get into some viv-specific orcs.

currently i have 2 species of dart frog, and 2 species of day gecko. im a pretty active poster over at denbdroboard and at vivariumforums, but ive got a lot to learn about orchids before i can start contributing much.

i can however offer some advice and help with the design and construction of vivariums, as i ve been building them for 5 years or so, and ive created over 40 in that time. more recently ive begun building the actual enclosure myself. ive built glass and plywood vivs and plan to build many more of each.

maybe if peope are interested i could post some pics of some of my current vivs, but i dont have orchids, or i would have allready

oh yeah and i frequently have clippings of a few differnt peperomias and hoyas that i may post for sale/trade if i see some others using similar plants.

Woo-hoo, AN ORCHIDARIUM BUILDER/I mean a vivarium builder, in our midst!!
Just wait till you start learning about the conditions orchids like. You will start building vivariums whose primary role will be to keep happy orchids rather than happy herps.
I myself came to this forum to find out what orchids would do well in vivs.
Lets just say, it all about experimentation.
But a good one to have is Haraella odorata(retrocalla). Never fails to thrive in vivariums.

Welcome! Glad to see you here. I am sure soon you will have orchid collection. You can avoid that after looking at other people's photos on this site.

Welcome Landon. I've seen Tin's pics of how he built his viv using an aquarium and I'm pretty sure thats gonna be my winter project now that the snow has hit the ground, but you might have another variation. I'm an electrician, not a carpenter so keep it simple huh.
