It was by accident that I came across this Board. I wish I had seen the site earlier. I have been growing orchids for 35+ years in my backyard in Aiea, Hawaii. I grow mostly cattleyas, dendrobiums and phalaenopsis. I retired from my engineering job a couple of years ago so orchids now occupy a lot of my time. I am the treasurer in the Honolulu Orchid Society and program chairperson for the Aiea Orchid Club. Besides orchids, I enjoy photography. I will be posting some of my recent photos of orchids in bloom in the photo gallery. I look forward to participating in this forum.
I am really looking forward to seeing photos of your collection...and Aiea!
You'll love this place...it's a very friendly community with folks from all around the world sharing their experiences and thoughts. I learn something new or find a new "must-have" orchid (thanks to The Enablers) every day and we have a lot of fun along the way.

Hello, and welcome to Orchid Board. Already I can tell you I'm jealous. Living in Hawaii must be wonderful. My Hubby and I went to Maui for our 1st anniversary last September and we didn't want to leave. We're planning on visiting again when time and money permits. Once again, welcome to the Board.

I look forward to seeing your pictures! I have learned so much being on the O. Board. Hope you enjoy it as well. I lived on one of the islands years ago. Wasn't interested in orchids then.
