Have you tried to grow it? I knew one orchid grower in Moscow. He grew cuthbertsonii in hot climate conditions. It is unbelievable but they grew well and bloomed. He never divided them and had large blooming specimens. If you like this plant may be you should give it a try? I noticed that I cannot grow the easiest plant if I don't like it. Even if conditions are right the plant dies. And I have a couple of tricky spesies, that seems to grow well. Even if conditions are not perfectly suitable for them. May be it is a coincidence or may be the plants feel how we feel about them and it is also very important for them as well as other growing conditions.

Welcome shadow. What kinds of catts do you grow? I've leaned into the species for mine. Maxima, gigas, luteola, iricolor, quadricolor, mooreana and trianeae...just to name a few. Would love to see some pics, especially if you have any of these in bloom. Had to edit this; had I looked through the entire thread I would have seen your list...

Yes, I listed what I have and waht I'm waiting. I don't have pictures in bloom because I have them for less than a year and most of them came smaller than I expected when I ordered them. The only one I hope to bloom next year is gigas var.alba (I listed it as usual gigas in my list, sorry for mistake).

Welcome Shadow, you've got a nice list for a small collection, good going! What varieties of D.cuthbertsonii do you keep, how how do you like them? I've heard intimidating things about their culture, but their small size and cool growing habits sound ideal.

I've ordered three colour varieties of cuthbertsonii. But I haven't received them yet. I will get them in 1-2 months time. They should be red, red with yellow in the middle and magneta. It is extremely difficult to find them over here so I've ordered what it were available.
