I’m new orchid enthusiast. I bought my first orchid over 1 year ago and now I have 70 orchids, mostly miniatyres. Half of my orchids are in the Orchidarium (=terrarium)

First snow is raining in the Southern-Finland and temperature is -2 ºC. Winter is here at last. Autumn was specially warm.

Hi! Nice to hear from you. Again...please post pictures. You seem to have caught the orchid bug pretty bad...70 orchids in one year!!! Even I couldn't keep up with that!

Hello again and thanks for welcoming me

. Don’t be afraid, I’m not going to write any more finnish. Yes, I have to admit, I’m badly addicted to orchids

. Because the finnish forum is quite silent time to time, I couldn’t resist this beautifully design forum and webpage and there seems to be interesting articles too.

Because I’m a slow writer (in english), it takes a little time to anwer all your questions. I’m getting used to take pictures all of my orchids, so I can post some of then. I have to check this forum first, where to put them.

I don’t now if orchidarium is a right word to describe my little terrarium? It isn’t very big, bottom 80x40 cm and height 80 cm. There are some Bulbophyllums, mottled leaf paphs and Oncidium/Tolumia hybrids as well other monopodial miniatures (Ascocentrum, Vascostylis and so). There is nothing special with my orchids, mostly phals, paphs and dendros. They are quite common plants here in the flowershops. Unfortunately it is beeing common habit to sell them without proper name. They are still beautifull – no matter.

I did find specific fotogallery, so I try to add pic one of my absolut favorite - Paphiopedilum King Arthur. This was the first flowering paph I saw and I simply go nuts. I get (almost) irresistible desire to buy all of then (4). So I had to count several times to ten in my mind and then I had calm enough to choose best looking paph.

Arthur did flower this autumn but I accidently cut his stem off.
