Another newbie for you
Just to introduce myself,I am retired and have become addicted to orchids. It's probably not a big surprise to most of you that such a thing can happen. I live in Chazy,NY, which is on Lake Champlain and 12 miles south of the Quebec border.
My bay window is filled with several types of orchids that I'm in the process of learning about.

Welcome! I too am retired but working harder than ever with my photo business. Orchids serve two purposes for me: relaxation and enjoyment as well as photo subjects.

Nancy, sind Sie Deutsch?
If not...your user name is a charming bit of German (means silver-haired).
Regardless, Herzlich Wilkommen, welcome, and we look forward to learning from your experiences.

Scott,I'm semi-Deutsch by heredity. But the "silver-haired" is a description of my own hair.It is hard to find an apropos username. I did take several years of German in school, but haven't had much use for it since, although my husband and I used to toss a bit of Deutsch back and forth now and then. French is more useful where I live.
To everyone else, thankyou for such a nice warm reception. I'm overwhelmed!
