Thank you everyone, I will go to that forum now.....the plant has a tag on it, but does not list the parentage or variety, just a few numbers. I've added the only decent picture I could take to my profile.

It's definetly a Vanda and yes they are addicting. I started with a Phalaenopsis and I got hooked on to them; however my mother had a huge Cattleya specimen in our backyard back in my home country.
