You're welcome, dear. It's fun to get on those sites and just buy seedlings or a bit larger, because they're only about 9 or 10 dollars apiece, much cheaper than even grocery stores sell them for, because the ones in the grocery stores are fully mature... but it sucks because they're already bloomed, and you don't get the fun of waiting for them to bloom... and if you get seedlings you'll get to watch them grow into healthy adult orchids

Great point. I am actually shopping for a few shelves to maximize the East window...and a few lights too so I can have a nifty wall setup (eventually).

Yeahhh!!! Awesome. when I first started growing I looked at lowes for some sort of shelf-extender, but couldn't really find anything that fit that purpose lol so I just settled for the stuff I got...

But let me know what you find... pretty soon here I'm going to have to buy another set of shelves to accomodate my growing collection so I'd love to have some new tips

If you're fond of Phalaenopsis, I'd suggest Big Leaf Orchids - online phalaenopsis store for super quality flower and plants.
A more reasonable price should come from my second favorite site: Oak Hill Gardens, you cannot go wrong with those two places.

Hello...I am a newbie Female
Thumbs up Beaut Phal - I am also fairly new to orchids

That looks like quite a lovely phal to find in a grocery store. Did it have a name? In Australia when we buy orchids in the big stores they never have a name and you can never buy anything very fancy.

I am hoping to build a phal collection too - my reason - besides being gorgeous, the flowers last for ages.

I have bought a very small plastic hot house from a big hardware chain here called Bunnings, and it stays under my back patio. My phals are now thriving in the humid atmosphere inside. I give them a light spray every 2nd day or so and things are looking good.

Thanks for the links Blackordhid, I will probably get a few more Phals...I have room left on that table for it!

Thanks SueK, I thought the same so had to snatch it up! The label did not have a name, katfemme89 posted it looked like a 'Nobby's Amy'. I did a web search and it certainly does! The hot house sounds neat!

Katfemme89, I will definitely let you know when I get my wall shelf setup going!
