Hi Aussie42 welcome to the OB! Don't you just loe how things happen for a reason? I truly hope all of your rescues recover, and look forward to see more of them as they blossom.

Keep us posted!

Happy Growing...

Hi again.

Thanks for the kind words of welcome.

I'm hoping to get a few pics of my general setup together in the next few days and post them in an advice forum. I expect I'm doing a multitude of things wrong, but I'm keen and looking forward to helping my little critters grow to their full potential.

Something I didn't mention, gran got an instant orchid collection about...32 years ago. The plants came from an orchid nursery they had set up at the Gold Coast. It was just getting going and then a developer came along and offered them far too much money for the land. They sold up and moved the plants, benches, shadecloth, watering systems etc 700 km north and build a hothouse for gran. A huge hothouse, larger than her house. And left her with many thousand plants.

So it's quite possible that some of the plants I've got back from gran's shed were my parents' plants (or divisions etc thereof) many, many years ago.

Dad's been a great help with potting and advice, and loves heading down the back when he comes over to see how things are going/growing.

Anyway, you'll be seeing me around a bit, I hope.

Cheers,
Aus.

PS - a clump of Maxillaria tenuifolia should be arriving here in the next couple of days - one more smelly to add to the collection ;-)

Aus, sounds like you've got some "heirloom" orchids in your collection. Can't wait till u post pics of your set up.
