Hi HC- I have been lurking in the wings also but my problem (among many) is that I am a geezer who is just venturing into the world of computers, email etc and this is all very daunting but I will keep working at it. I too am from the Gulf coast (Ellenton) and I must say it is MUCH easier to grow orchids here than 'twas in central NY. TROBERT

Thank you one and all for the warm welcomes.

I'm in Tampa, not too far from Spring Hill or Ellenton.

Thank you, also, for the nice words on my orchids. That Why Not is a personal favorite of mine.

I love Brassavolas and have quite a few. My mounted "Little Stars" is a monster.

My R. digbyana (sp?)is in bloom right now. I'll try to get a picture up soon So is my B. nodosa for that matter.

For those close to the Tampa Bay area, have any of you ever been to Del Favaro's? It's in North Tampa off Gunn Hwy. He's carries a few floof types but mostly has species and primary hybrids. I could live out there.

Another good one is Hill's Raingreen. That's where I get most of our Phals and Jewel Orchids for our retail nursery. I'm thinking that Hill's is wholesale only but I'll be sure and ask the next time I head out that way.

LOL...we go to Louis's place quite often

Have you been to Byrd's Orchids in Lakeland? They're wonderful

Where is Hill's Raingreen? I've never heard of them...please let us know if they are open to the public

Are you a member of any of the orchid clubs here?

I've never heard of Byrd's I'll have to check them out when I have time.

I'll call June this week and see if Hill's is open to the public. They are out on SR 39, south of Lithia-Pinecrest Road.

We use to contract grow our bromeliads through them but with over 1000 broms every four months, they couldn't keep up. We had to switch to Silver Vase

My company belongs to the FNGA but I'm not a member of any orchid society.

I work with plants for a living and it can be real easy to burn out on greenery. I can water ficus, broms, ados, and the like in my sleep. I sometimes think I have ...

My orchids are for play and relaxation. Plus the challenge of growing them

Have you ever been out the the botanical sales at USF? I'm a member and am a frequent visitor to the AOS booth there.
