Hi everyone. I grew orchids for several years when I was younger, then had to give it up while I was in the navy. I just moved down to West Palm Beach, and I'm getting back into the hobby. I have one orchid at the moment, a Brassia that I picked up my second day here. I'll be reading up to see what's changed while I was away, and I'm sure it won't be long until my house is overflowing again.
Aboard Tony, great that you could join in on the best orchid forum on the web. You will find a wealth of information and don't hesitate to take a or two, three, four of your new arrivals. Sounds like your hiatus was short lived and your love for orchids are still within.
Welcome to one new-comer from another. I too was big into orchids, then migrated to cacti (mostly 'cause I could travel and leave them to their own resources for weeks) but now have moved back to orchids (species - mostly miniatures). This is a great board for info, but can be slow at times, so if you are used to a board with hundreds of posts per day, this ain't it! ;-)

Thanks. I'll post some pics as soon as it starts blooming, shouldn't be more than a week or so. I've been looking forward to getting my collection started again, and I finally can now that I'm not going out to sea all the time. I plan to concentrate on Oncidium alliance stuff, especially Brassias, and Paphs/Phrags, but I'm sure plenty of others will find their way into my collection as well.
