Hi, I am Janie, and I have quite a large orchid collection, yet know so little about them. Me and my orchids are in Mexico, where they grow quite well with little help. I have local species as well as cultivated orchids. I just want to sit back and read for awhile to see what I can learn from this group. I just repotted 12 orchids in the S/H medium that I had brought to me. All is well so far. I have some mounted specimens ,and some in the ground, some vanilla, and some growing on live trees. The local orchids don't produce a spectacular bloom, but are a nice surprise when they do. I love my phalaenopsis the best and want to find a source for some starter size plants ( in the states, mail order) so I can enjoy watching them grow and bloom. I have searched the net for days, but not finding any good prices. Any comments? thanks Janie

Hi Janie! Welcome to OB!
I always check The Orchid Mall - Everything in Orchids when I want to find something specific. It has many sites to choose from and you can narrow your search down that way.
Andy's in California has an excellent reputation and that is close to you. Oak Hill Gardens is also excellent. I can't remember where they are located. They are listed at orchid mall, though. Good luck on your search.

Are you looking for species or hybrid Phals?

There is also Orchidwire.com .. another good resource where you can look up the genus name and get pages of listings - like this on phals - OrchidWire : Orchid Genus : Phalaenopsis

If you like blue phal hybrids - Sapphire Dragon Orchids - Welcome to Sapphire Dragon Orchids

Have you tried eBay - Baldan's Orchids is a very reliable vendor and they have decent prices for hardy and healthy Phals
