Chicago area newbie
Hey there, folks.
This seems like a great place to learn more. I currently grow a little of everything (aquarium plants, numerous houseplants, herbs, a tangerine tree, some carnivorous plants), and I'm hoping to devote a corner to orchid growing. I'm especially interested in what can be accomplished using multiple, inexpensive shop lights. Paphs are very interesting to me, but I'd also love some fragrant oncidiums, etc. I posted a big, long question in the beginner section.
Great to be here!
Christina

Hi Christina and welcome! You've already made me smile...devoting a "corner" to orchids...not possible
I know we'd all love to learn more about you and your plants, you should try to join us in the chat room some night, we usually start getting there around 8pm est.
How many orchids have you gotten so far? You are lucky enough to be within traveling distance of Oak Hill Gardens...great place to get some more !!!
Hope to see you around the board, feel free to ask your orchid questions, there are a lot of very nice, helpful people here in our little corner of the world

Aboard Christina, starting with a corner sounds like me, started with 4 in a livingroom corner and now 1+ yrs later 48 chids and a breakfast nook. Glad you've found the OB a great place to hang out and take in all the wealth of shared knowledge. There is a galley where you can upload your can't wait to see your collection of plants...enjoy
