Hi from North Devon in the UK. I am finding this forum invaluable so am pleased to join.
I have around 30 orchid species and am really enjoying watching them develop. I grow them either on east facing window sills or in our conservatory, which is north facing but gets good morning and evening light.
One species I have had a lot of trouble with is Prosthechea radiata. I know it is considered "easy" but I have had no success with it.
Welcome! An "easy" orchid is one whose desired conditions match what you have without a lot of effort. A "hard" one is the opposite. Which is which, is different for each of us. So we share ideas, the beauty of this forum! Looking forward to your parcipation.
Prosthechea radiata requires much more water than must people realize. I have a warmer and less humid climate than you, but I must stand this in a shallow dish of water or it will not grow. Letting it get fully dry once stops growth for months.
