Hi everyone.
I've been lurking for sometime, absorbing lots of good advice, but I decided to finally join up. I'm in South Africa and trying to grow a wide variety of orchids. I am relatively new to the hobby but my collection has grown quite a lot over the last couple of years.

Some of my favourite orchids are Ansellias, but I love many other kinds as well, especially fragrant ones. My newest adventure is trying to grow disas... we'll see how that goes. I haven't yet taken the step to join my local orchid society due to my busy work schedule, but hoping to do that in the future.

I also try to grow carnivorous plants, fynbos and succulents among other things.

Thanks everyone.

I'm in Cape Town, the climate is classed as Mediterranean or Köppen Csb. We have cool & wet winters and warm/hot & dry summers. Winter daytime temps go down to ~15-18C and in mid-summer they can be in the mid 30s C. The humidity is typically above 70% throughout the year.

I grow most of my orchids indoors, but started trying a few outside recently.
