Welcome, from the Central Coast in NSW.
I imagine Miltonopsis will grow well in your climate, or any hybrid with a lot of Miltonopsis in it. Also any of what used to be classified as Ondontoglossum. Perhaps also Masdevilla. Or maybe a vanda that is derived from Vanda coerulea or Vanda falcata. Also native Sarcochilus. There is a project thread here somewhere on growing Sarcochilus that you’ve probably spotted already. Barita orchids in NSW sometimes offers hybrids between Sarcochilus and the lesser known members of the same genus alliance (Vanda) which would be an interesting new area to get into. Cheers.

Hi from Victor Harbor, a seaside town in South Australia.
Despite most of the state being classed and hot and dry, Victor seems to have its own microclimate always a few degrees cooler than Adelaide. Luckily we don't get the hot weather for weeks on end either.

I have Cattleya, Oncidiums, Dendrobium, couple of Sarcs and a couple of Aerides. All are growing quite well outdoors under the verandah all year round but with the strange weather patterns this year the plants are definitely slower this year. I do bring the smaller/softer plants inside for the Winter.

Living in the Dandenongs will, as ArronOB said, allow you to grow some species I would like to try.
I will look forward to reading your posts.

Welcome from dreary, grey Britain!

I’m looking forward to (and slightly envious of the) seeing the different varieties you can grow in your climate

Welcome !!

Being leaved in almost 6 years in Melbourne, I am happy to seeing Melbounier here in OB

Yes, as mentioned by couple of members here Matthew's you tube channel Hello Plant Lovers would be helpful, I watch his videos as well.

Thanks
