New to the board, Hi I’m Tim
This is my second attempt at an intro so either I’m incompetent or it’s out there and I don’t see it, so I guess that’s be incompetent too. 7 Orchids now after my first, a Phalaenopsis rebloomed last year. I didn’t think it’d be possible because in my experience, albeit pretty plant successful, orchid were like poinsettias- those plants you buy and seem to kill no matter how much you read about taking care of it, it’s tropical etc. or a gift someone gave you that you choked the life out of no matter how hard you tried. Now 4 phalaenopsis, 1 Cattleya, 1 Zygopetalum & 1 Oncidium Alliance Hybrid (right?? Still baffled by this tangled nomenclature) later, I’m thirsty for knowledge but cowed by the staggering amount of info good and bad. I can’t even remember the orchid types yet except for the Phalaenopsis & Cattleya, let alone pronounce them! So I’m glad I found this, I look forward to taking and leaving & ask for forgiveness in advance for the ignorant sh*t that may come off of my fingertips here!

Welcome! You will find lots of friendly advice here. There are no stupid questions except for the unasked ones! And a orchids offer a lifetime of learning. So do keep the inquiries coming. There are lots of Board contributors who grow under conditions similar to yours, that advice is especially helpful.

Welcome!
FYI, if you’re going to post pictures of your plants ![Very Happy](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif) don’t worry if your pictures upload sideways. It’s a flaw of the OB’s old system and we’re all accustomed to it. There are workarounds, but you don’t have to.

Welcome Tim.
What part of the Philly burbs? I lived in Doylestown for 28 years, working in KOP, downtown Philly, and Exton.

Thanks Ray
I used to live in Center City almost exactly in the middle, bought a home in NoLibs, sold it at the end of Covid, Wynnewood for a year now a little closer to Villanova on the mainline.
Thanks Dimples as well.
