An intro and hello to old friends!
My name is Colleen Bevans and I live in Michigan. I have been growing orchids approx 7 years. I grow cool/intermediate growers in 2 orchidariums (c) and warm growers on a light stand. In April, my husband and I will move to Alaska for summers, and return to Michigan for winters (family). Toward that end, Marty has given me permission to post an announcement regarding the sale of my entire collection. I grow Pleuros, Angraecoids, Sophs, Promenaeas species Phals and a little of this an that. Mostly species, many minis. I really do want my babies to go to good homes!
My orchids can be found on Ebay under seller "Colleensorchids"
A little about me is posted at ebay "about seller":

I hope someday to someday choose ONE place to live so that I can re-establish my collection. Its unrealistic to aquire cities x2: to take this collection into Canada and then back into the US, twice a year. Mailing them would be risky at best! Feel free to email me if you have questions..
I hope this note finds all of you happy and healthy...and your orchids too!
Happy growing...
Colleen Bevans

Colleen,
I've been known to offer bench space to people in just your situation, much to my detriment... So, if you wanted to hold some of those plants over in my greenhouse, you are welcome to do so.
Yes, you have to live in Michigan to take advantage of this fine offer, and no, I don't have space for everybody. Just extraordinary situations and people I like. *grin*

What a nice guy you are, Rob!
I personally think you need to move to the west coast of Florida

Too many hurricanes. I'd rather take my chances on tornados. Which we don't get very often, thank goodness.

Welcome Colleen! You'll like it here, and I hope all works out with you and your 'chids.

Hi.. I know (have actually met Rob)... and he's not only a nice guy...but a very knowlegable and GREAT grower! I did consider boarding the collection... but my motivation in growing is the accomplishment..and if Rob is tending them 6 months out of the year... well... further... many of my orchids would melt in summer at Robs--(hear "melting, melting"-wicked witch of the west) Cool, intermediate growers--90s are a BIG no-no Plus... many are spring/summer bloomers...when I wont be here to see/smell/touch them! Believe me folks... this was a well thought out and heart wrenching decision.... Thank you to all the well-wishers... I'll still be addicted... just to YOUR plants... LMAO!

Hi Coleen I think I remember you from another forum . I am sorry you have to give them up , it would be a hassle and not a lot of fun moving them around . Nice group here ,don't stay away for long . Gin (aka) ginge
