Hi from Germany
Default Hi from Germany

Hi evereryone,

Since I want to do it properly this time around I started researchin on the web and ended up finding this treasure trove of a place... Love that everything is a rather a discussion than a putting out of rules.

I am not yet an orchid-grower just started with a few NoId Phals (the grocery store variety) to see how they (and I) fare... Also, I dont know if I ever have the chance to become a real grower for I live in more than one place, which induces regular (more than a week long) absences from where I keep the orchids. Nevertheless, this is rather some sort of restart since I kept Orchids (the same kind) for already 10 years (until the pandemic took them from me by inducing a 9 months absence in the first lockdown...) They survived and bloomed rather well in my "non-care" but never grew much (I did not really know what I was doing...but they were the only plants that survived my fragmented "care"...) This time I want to do it better and here I am.

All the best

Meike

Welcome! In my book, if you have at least one orchid in your care that makes you a grower of orchids.

Welcome! I just joined too. Hopefully both of us will learn so much that our orchids will fare very well now.
