I’ve been growing orchids in my home for about 30 years. I still have one of my first - an unnamed oncidium. I grow oncidiums, phals, a few catts, and a few other types. I’ve been growing plants indoors and out since childhood and I find orchids are actually easier in many ways.
One of your first an Oncidium? That's pretty rare! (Hmm, technically one of my first is an Oncidium shipped in the same package as a Phalaenopsis - they're equally first but I had been caring for my mom's before I started my own collection) Tell us... what was your first orchid?

My first was an oncidium. A Kenneth Bivens. I wish they did not get so large! I love those "spider" forms with the multiple thin petaled spider shapes!
